Would you be upset if your girlfriend wanted to have photos taken of herself?

I have always been interested in modeling and have really wanted to have professional glamour/fashion-type photos taken. I was considering paying a professional photographer, but I looked online at some ads that amateurs have listed to have them done for free. My boyfriend, however, is very upset and thinks that there is no point in doing so. I would just be happy to have some artistic photos taken, and actually if they turn out nicely I would possibly use them to try and start some modeling. Would any other guys be upset over this?
